Friday 3 Aug - cycled to Tonniens, dinner at Villeton port cafe

Slept in, had a late breakfast, then listened to Hawks-Cats game. Nearly stopped listening at quarter time when the Hawks were 45 points down, but persevered. Even when they hit the lead with 4 minutes to go, I felt another twist was in store. How many different ways can they lose to the Cats by less than a goal?

Got an interesting email from Jerry Crosby from Vertrouwen about using Kanumbra for charter work. Nice idea, but don't think so for this year. Laura and Donald tied up behind us at Villeton. While Rita cycled back to Damazan for her swim, I went for a bike ride on back roads to and from Tonniens, which didn't look all that impressive from across the Garonne. Given that its claim to fame is being the centre of the tobacco industry, I'm not all that surprised.

That evening we had dinner at the Villeton port cafe, which seemed to be a favorite place with many local families. I must remember that steak Bordeaux means steak with mushrooms. After dinner had a nightcap drink with Laura and Donald on the rear deck on Kanumbra (having woken Laura from slumber).
