Thursday 2 Aug - Villeton, La Follette rock museum, St Christophe lock cafe
We had an early departure from Damazan to get a good berth at Villeton. Surprised that mooring was free (the port is run by the Mairie), while electricity was 2 euro for 4 hours and water was 2 euro for 15 minutes.
We cleaned the boat and did laundry and some emails before riding back to the rock museum at La Follette, that we had passed on our way to Villeton. Fascinating collection of 7000 items collected over past 12 years. Enthusiastic and informative presentation in Frenglish, with a mooring space at the front door for those who arrive by barge.
We went to the St Christophe lock cafe for dinner. We got there a bit early and the owner's family (who work as service staff) had not yet arrived. So we went for a walk around the town for a while. It was worth the wait, as the evening was very nice, with good food and friendly staff. Satisfied, we rode home to Villeton in the dark.
