Sunday 7 June - AFL, last lunch, gathering stormclouds
Woke at a respectable hour (it was a late game in Melbourne) to watch the AFL game between the Hawks and the Saints. After a relatively even first half, where the Saints played much better than expected, the Hawks pulled away in the third quarter to eventually run out comfortable 63-point winners 132-69.
Around midday we went to have a last lunch with Nico, Miya and Massa at La Maison, since tomorrow morning they will drive to Brittany for the rest of the summer, where Nico will start work on restoring his grandpa’s old barn. We will miss them. We talked with Nico about what needs to be done by the other tradespeople over summer to get the house essentially finished by August.
In the late afternoon after we returned to the barge, storm clouds began to gather over Moissac as a large storm front moved in the from the north-east. While the sun was shining the clouds looked spectacular but rather benign. As the sun set, the clouds looked more threatening but very colourful. However, despite lots of thunder and lightening (very, very frightening), not a drop of rain fell on Moissac. We could see it falling from the clouds, but it all evaporated before reaching the ground.
Having fixed the bike pumps yesterday, we took the opportunity to return to the storage shed and collect the second bike, ready for some cycling in the next few days. Since it was Sunday, and Intermarche was closed, we then headed out to their carpark, where Rita got some gear-changing practice in the Scenic.
