Saturday 25 July - AFL, DBA, Abbey concert, Terrasse path, SGP, Parvis concert
In the morning, I watched the last part of the AFL game between Fremantle and the Richmond Tigers. Freo were on top of the table, while Richmond were trying to cement a place in the top eight. After leading for nearing the entire game, Richmond lost 82-78 when Freo kicked the winning goal with 31 seconds to go. Heartbreak for the Tigers and pretty much ensures that Freo will finish the season on top of the table, thereby getting Finals games at their home ground in Western Australia.
While I wrote some DBA reports for the next board meeting, Rita went up to the Abbey for a medieval music concert. While she was away I made a start on the path to the stairs leading up to the Terrasse. Previously, one had to walk over the garden to get to the stairs, but I aimed to fix that. Today I spent most of my time removing plants and dirt from the garden in preparation for laying paving stones for the path (which I had obtained by digging up several sections of path that would no longer be needed). I made sure that the old path got a decent burial.
While Rita went up to the Parvis for an evening concert, I followed the results of the Swedish SGP on the internet.
