Saturday 21 September - foggy morning, Freo-Swans, Nico-Miyu, BBQ
Very foggy morning which cleared by about 11am, but it highlighted the view one gets from the bedroom windows.
I watched the second Preliminary Final between Freo and the Swans. Easy win by Freo who pressured Sydney out of the game. Should be a good Grand Final next week. Spent the rest of the day on odd jobs around the house, then in the evening we walked up to the train station to collect Nico and Miyu who had arrived from Redon (Brittany). They were our backpacker guests in Taggerty for a couple of years, and Nico will be our carpenter and project manager for the house renovations. On the way back, I realised that you get a nice view of the house (the pink one in the middle with all the chimneys) from the railway parking lot.
Had a BBQ on the front (back?) verandah for dinner. Watched the Speedway Grand Prix from Stockhold in between, including the crash between Tomaz Gollob and Tai Wolfinden. Despite breaking his collarbone again, Tai continued riding and picked up 7 valuable points, while Gollob was taken to hospital with a damaged 7th vertebrae.
