Friday 20 September - Hallelujah, stuck truck, Hawks-Cats, Sunbeam concert
Went down to the port to say hello to Iain and Kaz and saw that Iain was taking some Australians out for their ICC exams today. I watched Iain as he was giving them some of their rope lessons - he certainly has a unique style.
Went out to Intermarche for some house shopping, but had to detour as a truck was stuck under railway bridge - ouch! Just like the Montague Street bridge in Melbourne.
Watched the Hawks–Cats Preliminary Final. After giving up hope when the Hawks fell 20 points behind at ¾ time (following two horrendous umpiring decisions), the Hawks stormed home to win by 5 points, with Geelong missing a score equalling goal 30 seconds from the end – phew, the Kennett Curse is broken, and what a game to do it in. Lots of jumping up and down and screaming and crying at the house. Just hope the Hawks have not played their Grand Final one week too soon.
Spent a quiet afternoon recovering from the footy, then down to the Sunbeam Cafe for pizza dinner with lots of our barging friends. Rita took her pan, Stuart took his guitar, while there were two more American guitarists from Serius.
