Sunday 8 July - Agen Sunday Market, cycle to the 4 locks, night walk to the church
Yay, sleep in! After breakfast, we went to the Agen Sunday Market to buy some fruit and veges. Then a beer on the way home, and a good sleep that afternoon. Since I had been unable to get the generator working, it looked like we were going to have to go the season without a generator, and just charge the batteries while we were running and occasionally connect to shore power to top up the batteries. We therefore did some tests on the amps drawn by each circuit on the boat to get an idea of what might be draining the batteries. Very informative, and helped us set priorities for what to turn on and what to turn off.
We then ran the engine for an hour or so to put some charge into the batteries for the evening. We cycled around the four locks to the west of Agen in the afternoon, then had a walk to the church at the top of the hill that night, where we got a nice view over Agen and the railway station.
