Saturday 25 Aug - top of the table, preparing for painting

Woke around 6am in semi-darkness. Looked threatening outside. Woke again around 9am to the sound of rain - so much for painting the rails this morning! Also late for the start of the Hawks-Swans game. We were already 3 goals down. After scoring only one point in the first quarter and being 40 points down midway through the second, they stormed back to be only five down at halftime. An epic battle in the second half with about ten lead changes. Swans snatch the lead at the 27 minute mark of the last quarter, but we kick two goals in the last two minutes to snatch the game and go to top of the ladder. Jerry came over to check how the generator battery was working and to say goodbye as they were heading east today. Promised to catch up next year sometime. Spent the rest of the day finishing the cleaning of the deck, in between showers, ready for tomorrow. Went to Carrefour to buy painting supplies and some top-up food for the rest of my stay. In the evening, the storm clouds moved in again, but the setting sun did its best to liven things up.

Had a brief chat with the Scots from Fair Emma, who had returned after their summer in Scotland. They were heading off to the Med in the morning.
