Monday 13 Aug - met Hilda may at St Christophe lock, cruised on to Buzet

Lazy morning, with Rita catching up on emails, me doing some AFL analysis, and Laura using our wifi to do her emails, while Donald rode to Tonniens to do some shopping. Waited till early afternoon while last shore power top-up finished, then filled the water tank, had some lunch and departed. At the first lock (St Christophe), we ran into Hilda May coming out, so we tied up at the waiting dock, they doubled up and we spent an hour talking with Stuart and Christine and having a cool drink. Rita tried to convince them to come back to Buzet on Wednesday night for the Bankside Buskers, but Christine was not so keen, since they had only just started to head west from Buzet. We'll see! Eventually we parted and then we double-locked with a small rental boat. After we left the lock, we let them overtake, assuming they would be quicker. Big mistake, since they then slowed down. We finally managed to overtake them again, after several attempts, before we reached the next lock. Looked for place to moor at Damazan, but nothing really suitable, so went on to our favourite bankside spot in Buzet. After dinner, went to the main Buzet marina to deposit rubbish, and had short chat to English couple on a 65ft Branson replica - many similarities to a Piper design.
