Sat 27 July - rain, AFL, study, more heavy rain, Ventusky, security, Intermarche
Overnight rain gave way to a cloudy morning, when I got up early to listen to the AFL game between the Hawks and Brisbane. Despite leading for the first half, poor kicking meant that despite having more scoring shots, the Hawks were eventually over-run by Brisbane by fulltime.
The orange weed-eater was very busy during the morning, sucking up weed from around the port and depositing it in an enclosure near the second island. Eventually this will be gathered by the large barge with crane that I saw a couple of weeks ago.
In the afternoon, the rain returned with a vengeance, with some very heavy downpours.
The forecasts on the Ventusky website indicated that we would be getting more rain over the course of the day.
Strangely, such heavy rain makes me feel very secure on the boat, knowing that it is designed to be weather-proof. Indeed, I feel much more secure on the boat in this weather than I do on "dry" land. During a break in the weather, we raced up to Intermarche to do some shopping, returning just as the rain started again. At least the rain is cooling down the temperatures!
