Sun 27 Aug - cool, quiet, blue boats, Dole, mooring, evening walk, frame
It was a cool morning, and when Rita went for a walk it was very quiet -even the boulangerie was closed. As we doodled around on the boat after breakfast, we noticed that the blue barge Jeanine, that we'd seen on the Doubs several times, was again on her way to the Saone with a boatload of paying passengers. However, it was somewhat different this time, because 15 minutes later her twin sister ship Danielle cruised by empty, presumably being relocated to start another run.
In late morning, storm clouds appeared over the horizon from the west, so we thought we should get moving and try to beat them to Dole. So we left Rance and cruised past Choissey on the way to Dole, where we once again succussfully moored on the sloping stone wall. It's funny, every time we come to Dole we wonder how we will do the mooring on this wall, and yet every time we manage to do it OK, and get a great view of the basilica.
We relaxed for a while, and then started writing on the music therapy report and this blog, before having dinner and then going for an evening walk around old Dole, always a pleasant experience. When we got back to the boat, sunset was happening behind the basilica and we discovered the picture frame on the walkway next to our mooring. So we decided to be tourists for a while and use the frame.
