23-25 April - getting away again
For the past few weeks I have been doing a lot of work at the tree farm at Kanumbra (yes, Kanumbra the place, not Kanumbra the boat!), setting up a new measurement and monitoring system as the trees get ready for their final push towards maturity (and potential harvesting). It has been very rewarding work and I have got to explore many areas that I had not seen before. But along with the 30km I walked up and down the lines of trees over that time, I took time to sit down and admire the sunset tree reflections in the dam, and to say hello to Eddy the Echidna who I encountered on a couple of occasions.
But now it was time to head north for the Australian Winter, to begin another Mark Twain adventure. The next few days were devoted to that trip north.
