2022 was a year of highs and lows. High temperatures and low water levels. Buying a campervan, having a campervan stolen, retrieving a stolen campervan. Getting a Carte de Sejour approved, not being able to collect the Carte de Sejour card itself. As a result, we did nowhere near as much barging as we had expected. Our cruising map below shows little additional water-kilometres covered (11km) compared to the end of last year. Hopefully this will all change next year!

PS: our up and down year did not stop after our return to Australia. One day after Rita returned, the river at the bottom of our property burst its banks, flooding our only access road out to the main road for many days. A few days later Rita tested positive for Covid (probably contracted on her flight home from Zurich). Two days later, I came down with Covid as well. Two weeks later we both tested negative, but another rainstorm arrived and flooded our access road again, imposing another few days of isolation. But would we do it all again; sure would.
