Sunday 29 July - vide grenier, AFL, Tarn, concert, skier, book, Molieres
In the morning, Rita made preparations (i.e. food) for the re-scheduled cruise up the Tarn with the Lozat's and Nunze's. Meanwhile, I went in search for trophies for the Fetes at the Vide Grenier being held in the Uvarium Park. Also, no luck!
While all this was happening, the Hawks were thrashing Fremantle 112-53. Finally, they have learned how to keep their foot on their opponents throat till the final siren. The boosted percentage could come in very handy in a few weeks time when finalists are decided.
We finally went up the Tarn with the Lozat's and Nunze's at 1000h. Everyone seemed relaxed, yet excited, on the way up, and when we reached the Chateau, I turned the barge around, cut the engines and let her float downriver, occasionally making corrections with the bowthrusters to keep the rear deck in the shade,.
Rita’s preparations early in the morning paid off well, as we had a sumptuous cold lunch as we floated down.
The view from the rear deck was also not too shabby, including the two white swans at lower-right.
While we floated, Rita and I put on a little concert in the salon. I think they enjoyed the sound, and the novelty.
On the way back, Raphael’s daughter, Coralie, took great delight at taking the wheel. Does she look happy?
To finish off the cruise, a water skier put on a display of slalom skiing as we passed by.
We were home by 1330h, and Jean-Paul was honoured when we asked for his signature on the Forward to the Moissac book that he had provided many years ago. His initial comment was “Oh, so that’s what I wrote”. He also provided some kind words of thanks when he signed the book.
In the afternoon, we relaxed and read and then in the late afternoon we drove up to Lake Molieres about 30 minutues north, where the large lake has a sandy beach, cafe and many other amenities. Rita went for a swim while I enjoyed the views.
After a busy day, we enjoyed a quiet night on the rear deck.
