We woke to morning rain, which continued through most of the morning, so we just hung around the barge and caught up with gossip. In the early afternoon, the rain eased up so we headed up town, where Craig was pleased to find a cafe who understood “lots of ice” with his Coke.

We then went on a tour of the Cloister. Even though Rita and I have done this several times now, we always find something new to catch our attention, such as the dome in the belltower and the patterned stones on the paths.

After making a reservation that afternoon, we went to dinner that evening at our favourite restaurant in Moissac, l’Abbaye, in the shadows of the grand entrance to the Abbey, where we convinced a passerby to take our photo.
