Sunday 21 August - Auvillar market, furniture, abbey organ concert
The busy days of the past week had taken a toll, and so we decided to do a bit less today, and treat Sunday as a day of rest. In the morning, we headed across to Auvillar, which has a Sunday Market, held in the old Grains Market building. The cheese stall was very popular.
While we were in Auvillar, we also took the opportunity to visit the art gallery. As always, the variety of exhibits was broad, but I took a special liking to a sculpture of frogs on lily pads, given one of our barging friend’s particular dislike of frogs.
While Doug was still around, we enlisted his help to move furniture upstairs, in preparation for the doctor and his family moving into La Maison later this year. Rita then took them into town to see an organ concert at the Abbey, after which we had a relaxed dinner on the Terrasse at La Maison.
