In the morning, we drove to Bern thru the French and then Swiss Jura. Even before we crossed the border, it was starting to look a lot like Switzerland. Once we got to Bern we picked up Rita’s Mum from her house and then headed for Villa Bernau for the Welcoming Party for Miro, Joanna’s first child. After catching up with all the in-laws, we stayed at Kuno’s place in the old part of town on the Aare River. The afternoon sun was shining so we just hung out on Kuno’s window-ledges looking out over the Aare flowing past his house.

In the evening, we climbed the 183 stairs from the river to the old town, and went for a walk around the older parts of Bern - it brought back many memories for Rita and even some for me.
