Saturday 25 May - ATM banking, la Chouette, not much else, LogMeIn

It’s rainin’ again! I'm starting to realise why it might not be such a great idea to come to France in May, if the objective is to get some barging done. Very quiet day. Went up to the Saturday Market, but is was a very small market (probably because of the weather). Tried withdrawing cash form the BNP ATM on the market square but it wouldn't allow the withdrawal. So, I went across the square to the CIC bank, and it allowed the same transaction. So, at least I now know which ATM will work with my Westpac Mastercard. Followed some of the footy on the internet, and fixed the DBA pennant flag. Bob Marsland came through on La Chouette on his way south – he said they will come back next week and stay overnight on Saturday. Walked to house to check mail (none), then since the sun was out I went for a wander through the back streets of Moissac to get to learn the layout a bit better.

I got an email from a client the other day asking if I had a copy of a report from a few years ago, because their copy had become corrupted. I checked my laptop, but realised that I had archived that project to my desktop computer back home. On our previous barging trips, I had left the desktop computer on while we were away, and accessed it via LogMeIn, a program that allows you to log into other computers on a private network even when you are away from that computer. Unfortunately, before leaving this time, I forgot to turn the desktop computer on (because I don't use it very often when at home). So, I messaged Miyu (who is staying at our house while we are away) and asked her to turn on the desktop. I then accessed it via LogMeIn, copied the file to my Dropbox on the desktop, then picked it up out of my Dropbox on my laptop and emailed it to the client. Isn't technology wonderful?
