Monday 27 May - another sunny day, wheelhouse roof painting

Overcast but fine day – hopefully warms up a little to get the painting done today. The last of the Pentecote Fete Carnival trailers leaving this morning – they must have taken a week's holiday in Moissac. Out to Intermarche to get painting materials for roof. Then spent the day sanding the roof, wiping down the roof, then painting the roof with the same International Toplac Ivory as used for the cabin top last year (all while on my knees on the gangplank on the roof - not good for the knees). But the result is worthwhile – Kanumbra looks almost like a new boat! Need to do a few second coats in some areas, and then re-touch all the green paint areas that have changed back to blue. The change in the roof is apparent in the colour and even appearance of the roof surface, and also in the way that the rain forms into pools, rather than just spreading across the roof as an even film.

Enjoyed a well-earned beer at the end of the day. I loaned a power plug adaptor to Anya from Tasmania who came in on a Le Boat and needed to charge her iPhone to contact her sister who had just had a baby back home (her adaptor having gone kaput). Told her I would come down in the morning for coffee to get the adaptor back.
