Monday 17 June - Rosa departs, le Port concert plans, Theresa arrives

The day dawned overcast as Rosa left port with her next batch of paying guests (at about 3000euro per guest for the 6-day cruise). Rosa is a hotel barge that we see a lot of as she cruises between Agen and Montauban, therefore passing often through Moissac. Until this year, Rosa was skippered by Tom Hollows, a friend from Moissac who owns Easyvie. Rosa was featured in Rick Stein's French Odyssey TV programme.

Settled down with a batch of assignments, with occasional diversions to read more of “The Fist of God”, another novel by Frederick Forsyth. Went to Capitainerie to pay mooring fees to Frances, but none of the cards worked – suspect it must have been his machine, not all of my cards! He was keen to know whether we were serious about the concert next year, so I told him about our discussion with Cecille at Le Port. In the late-afternoon, the weather suddenly turned much cooler as the cold front came in from the south-west. The line of storms was moving quickly from south to north, and slowly from west to east. The rain radar showed it was coming up the east coast of Spain from Gibraltar. Showers started to arrive in Montauban just as we walked up to the station to collect Theresa, and we walked back from the station in the rain. After we arrived back at the boat, the real rain started and lasted all through the night.
