Monday 8 July - SPIE cable replacement, PANZ, Seethalers arrive
M. Jacob from SPIE came to the boat to talk about the replacement of aerial power lines in Rue Gambetta, as part of the heritage redevelopment. He needed our permission to remove the exposed power lines and replace them with a bundled cable attached to the façade and going underground at cross-streets. We agreed, and were grateful to get this done (for free) before we started the façade renovations.
Rita had a long Skype talk with Linda Fullerton about PANZ formation (the Pan Association of Australia & New Zealand). Then we drove out to Intermarche for supplies for the week, and to Weldom for some timber. Got back to the boat just in time to welcome the Seethalers who were arriving from Bern as we pulled up at the quai. Time for drinks and nibbles and catch-up talk, before heading off to have a look at the house. Then on to Au Bureau for dinner before a short walk up to the Abbey then home to bed. But it was a warm and humid night and few people got to sleep easily.
