Tuesday 26 June - cycling to Montauban, weed in the Montech Canal

We had heard from others that the weed in the Montech Canal was pretty bad, wrapping itself around the prop and forcing you to do lots of reversing manoeuvres to unwrap the weed from the prop. So, instead of cruising to Montauban, we cycled to Montauban again, initially through the Montech Forest, to check out the weed situation in the canal.  

It was pretty bad, especially along the edges, up to the lock just east of St Pierre.  After that, all was pretty clear to Montauban. We stopped at the Sports Bar in St Pierre on the way to and from Montauban for a refresher. Very hot day. Glad to get back to the relative cool of the barge.
