Sunday 24 June - toilet problems (yuk!), cycle back to Moissac for concert
In the morning, we found that the toilet was again full of black water, but not overflowing. I checked the level and found that it came up to the same level as the outside canal water. This must mean something, but I'm not quite sure what! Tried emptying it several ways (long and short flushes) but it kept filling again. Finally turned the stopcock on and off, and then flushed the loo again and (so far, an hour later) the bowl has not refilled. Don't know why, but here's hoping! Maybe got something to do with the non-return valve flap being held open by a temporary obstruction. Next time we are underway, I will open the stopcock and empty the tank with the macerator pump.
Rita spent some time cleaning the bimini of twelve months of accumulated spider webs - now looks like new! I washed and scraped the deck railings in preparation for later painting (much later I hope).
In the afternoon we cycled back to Moissac for an African music concert. Bit of a fizzer - the community dancers and drummers were OK but the main act played 3 songs, got no applause and then stopped playing and starting eating dinner! (we found out a few weeks later that the three songs were just his warm-up, and that he played the full concert after he finished eating his dinner!!). We also ate dinner at the Uvarium cafe - two ceasar salads and creme brûlée. Afterwards we cycled over to the south side of the Tarn and checked out the camping area. It was one of the best camping areas I'd seen. Reminded me of some of the really good ones in the USA. Cycled back to Castelsarassin via the south of the Tarn and then along the canal, arriving home around 10pm, still in the light of day.
