Rita and I got stuck into pan practice in the cool of the morning till 1100h, when it just got too hot in the salon to continue.

Later in the morning I took some time to respond to Jonathon, a reader of my Kanumbra blog who had some questions about Long-Stay Visas, and the fact that he was getting different advice from different sources. I explained that this was not unusual, and relayed the story of our current experiences with the Carte de Sejour - I hope I didn’t discourage him too much!

Before lunch, Rita went up to the art store near the Post Office for namecard holders - she learned that there were not enough in stock, they couldn’t order them before the Fêtes, and they wouldn't say who their supplier was so that we could order them directly. So we ended up not buying anything from them, and instead we went to Amazon.fr for the namecard holders, which were delivered within two days. And traditional shops wonder why Amazon is doing them out of business!  Sadly, we have discovered no equivalent to OfficeWorks over here in France.

Given the ongoing heat, we also decided to go up the Tarn - but we also needed to empty our blackwater tank, so it wasn’t all about avoiding the heat. While we were up there, we said hello to the others (L'Escapade and Lazybones) but decided not to interrupt their serenity. When we returned to the Tarn Quai, we discovered that Hilda May had come down to the Tarn.

As it was Thursday, we decided to go to the Lauzerte Night Market to meet up with Miyu and Nico again, and took Rob & Cherie with us (to introduce them to Nico, given their plans to buy and renovate in Moissac), and Stuart and Christine (who already knew Nico from work he had done on Hilda May). While we were there, we noticed a cameraman and reporter interviewing different people and getting shots from different angles. Given Stuart’s interest in documentary production, I think he was a bit envious.
